Jewish Dairy Plate
This plate from Mitre Street (MIR84) was found in an 18th century brick cesspit. It is Lambeth delftware and has the Hebrew word for ‘milk’ written across the centre. Orthodox Jews would separate meat from dairy and this example is the only one to have ever been found in London
